Fire crews were called to a road traffic collision(RTC) involving a street sweeper this morning on Holt Road, Kensington, Liverpool L7. Crews were alerted at 11.29am and on scene at 11.33am, with two fire engines and the search and rescue team in attendance. 

Crews arrived to find a street sweeping vehicle had collided with a shop window and was on its side. The occupant of the vehicle was out on arrival of crews and in the care of North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) being assessed for injuries thought to be minor before being taken to hospital.

The search and rescue team assessed the structural integrity of the shop, which was structurally safe, crews applied a special absorbent material to fluid leaking from the vehicle and made the scene safe.

Merseyside Police were in attendance managing traffic and Liverpool City Council were also in attendance arranging recovery of the vehicle. The incident was handed over to Merseyside Police and crews left the scene at 12.11pm.
