Location: Albion Street, St Helens
Fire crews have been called to a serious fire at a first floor flat in Patricia Court, Albion St., St Helens this afternoon.
Crews were alerted at 12.48pm and on scene at 12.53pm. Three fire engines are in attendance.
3 teams of 2 firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the flat and began searching the property while extinguishing the fire with a high pressure hose reel jet.
Crews discovered a casualty in the flat and continued searching for any other possible occupants. North West Ambulance Service were also in attendance and provided treatment to the casualty, fire crews assisted. The condition of the casualty cannot be confirmed at this time.
The fire was extinguished by 1.35pm and the flat has been ventilated using fans.
Other flats in the vicinity have been evacuated.
