Fire fighters attended an incident at the Marine Parade, Southport
Crews were alerted at 8.33pm and on scene at 8.39pm. Four engines attended.
A teenager jumped off the bridge, and was retrieved by one fire fighter with a tethered line. The male was then handed over to the care of NWAS and transported to hospital for further assessment.
We strongly advise that the public do not enter any body of water to cool down in hot weather, no matter how competent a swimmer. The result of cold water shock can be fatal.
Crews left the scene at 9.12pm.
