Location: East Lancashire Road, St Helens
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) attended an incident on East Lancashire Road, St Helens, on the afternoon of Saturday 20th September.
Crews were alerted at 14.34 and on scene at 14.41 with two fire engines attending.
On arrival this was one car well alight in a lay-by along East Lancashire Road.
Four occupants of the vehicle were out of the car prior to Fire Service attendance, all conscious and breathing, with no injuries reported.
One firefighter in breathing apparatus (BA) under general observations extinguished the fire with one high pressure hose reel.
MFRS crews then damped down. A second lane that had been closed was reopened.
Merseyside Police also attended to assist with traffic management and arrange the safe recovery of the vehicle.
