Warehouse fire, Prenton

Fire crews have been called to a warehouse fire on Parkvale Avenue, Prenton, Wirral this evening. Crews were alerted at 8.34pm and on scene at 8.41pm, with seven fire engines and an aerial appliance currently in attendance.

Crews arrived to find a warehouse around 50 by 50 metres involved in fire. Crews secured water supplies, began to fight the fire externally and began to gain access to the building interior. The incident has been divided into sectors, with hose reel jets, main branch hoses, ground monitor and an aerial appliance in use.

Residents and businesses nearby should keep doors and windows shut. If you have an existing medical condition, keep medicines nearby and if any ill effects are experienced dial NHS 111 for advice. 

The incident is ongoing. Please avoid the area.

UPDATE: 7.15am Monday 2nd March 2026

Good progress was made overnight, including the use of a High Volume Pump. The main body of fire was extinguished by around 1.30am and the fire had been prevented from spreading by ensuring the boundaries with surrounding areas were cooled. The incident was able to be scaled down and the electricity supply was cut off by Scottish Power operatives. Crews gained access to the interior of the building to check for hot spots. The Police cordon has been reduced to enable some access to Prenton Way, however Parkvale Ave remains completely closed. There are now three fire engines at the scene.
