Location: Eastham, Wirral
Fire crews and the Marine Fire One Rescue Boat have been called to Eastham Ferry Terminal, Ferry Road, Eastham this morning. Crews were alerted at 5.17am and on scene at 5.26am, with two fire engines, the search and rescue team and the Marine Fire One Rescue Boat in attendance.
Crews arrived to find a person on the wrong side of the railings at the ferry terminal, who rapidly entered the water. A tethered firefighter was committed to the water to rescue the casualty and was able to get the casualty to the shore safely.
NWAS Paramedics, Merseyside Police and HM Coastguard were also in attendance at the incident.
Fire crews set up a rope access system to bring the casualty up the rock face and into the care of paramedics for onward transport to hospital.
Crews left the scene at 6.22am.
