MFRS attended an incident at Georges Parade, Liverpool near to the Mersey Ferry Terminal.

Crews were alerted at 11.01pm and on scene at 11.08pm. Two engines, the search and rescue team and a marine fire boat attended.

Male rescued from close to the Mersey Ferry Terminal at Georges Parade, Liverpool. A member of our Marine Rescue Unit was the rescue swimmer who deployed from the boat on a tethered swim line.

Rescue swimmer recovered casualty conscious and breathing to rescue boat. The casualty was then transferred to the care of NWAS and taken to Aintree Hospital suffering the effects of cold water immersion.

MFRS left the scene at 11.40pm.
