Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) attended an incident at Vale Park, Vaughan Road, New Brighton, on the evening of Sunday 15 February.

Crews were alerted at 17.00 and on scene at 17.08 with two fire engines, the search and rescue team, and rescue boat Marine Fire One attending.

This was in response to reports of a person stuck in the mud. MFRS crews donned water kit and made their way to the individual affected, releasing them from the mud and assisting them to a place of safety.

HM Coastguard and North West Ambulance Service also attended.

MFRS crews left the scene at 17.51.
