Environmental Searches

As part of the Environmental Information Regulations 2004, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) are required to provide information on petroleum sites which have either a current petroleum storage certificate or that have historically stored petroleum.

With the written permission of the landowner, a developer or potential purchaser has the right to obtain information about the site held by MFRS.

An application can be submitted and payment made for an environmental search by completing the form in link at the bottom of this page.

You will need to submit separate requests for each unit or building address.

Once payment has been made in full, where possible we aim to respond within 15 working days.

The information supplied in the report represents the information presently held by MFRS in response to your specific enquiry.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Authority does not guarantee the accuracy of the information supplied to you, and it will not accept responsibility for any discrepancy between the information it holds and the actual conditions on site.

There are a number of legal exemptions that apply to the provision of information about the environment. If MFRS cannot provide the applicant with the information that they are looking for, we will write to them explaining the reasons why.
