The course is designed to promote fire safety within the workplace, in line with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, which made it a legal requirement that every member of staff receives a degree of fire awareness training.
The course can be tailored to the working environment of your company in order to provide realistic and informative training.
The aim of the course is to provide delegates with an understanding of fire safety and the practical skills needed in the event of a fire. Delegates learn about the cause of fire in the workplace, along with the risks that fire poses to health and safety. Delegates are also introduced to safe working practices.
The course includes live fire extinguisher training. Delegates are taught the correct fire extinguisher handling and operating practices and can experience the use of a fire extinguisher and fire blanket on real fire.
Delegates are informed about the behaviour of fire and human responses in emergency situations, to ensure sufficient knowledge to act confidently and effectively in a fire emergency situation.
