Location: Coastal Road, Ainsdale
Firefighters attended an incident on the Coastal Road, Ainsdale, at the junction with the Formby Bypass, on Wednesday, 15th July.
Crews were alerted at 10.49am and on scene at 10.56am. Two engines attended.
On arrival, crews found a refuse wagon full of recycling on fire. Two hose reel jets were used to tackle the fire. The wagon dropped the load on the roadside to facilitate firefighting.
Merseyside Police were also at the scene to close the road due to the pile of refuse and a Sefton Council representative attended to arrange a clean-up crew's attendance.
After damping down, crews left the scene at 12.32pm.
