Location: Regent Road, Kirkdale
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service is currently in attendance at a fire on Regent Road, Kirkdale.
Crews were alerted at 7.02pm and on scene at 7.06pm. Four fire engines are in attendance as well as an aerial appliance.
On arrival crews found a derelict building involved in fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus have been committed to the premises and are using main branches to tackle the fire.
Nearby residents and businesses should close windows and doors. Anyone with existing medical conditions should keep medicine nearby and call NHS 111 if ill effects occur.
The incident is ongoing. Please avoid the area.

The fire has now been extinguished and ventilation is taking place. The incident is expected to be scaled down shortly.
