House fire in Walton

Location: Honeysuckle Drive, Walton

Firefighters are currently in attendance at a house fire on Honeysuckle Drive, Walton.

Crews were alerted at 6.41am and on scene at 6.47am. Six fire engines were sent to the scene.

On arrival crews found a fire in the ground floor of the property which had spread to the first floor and loft space.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to tackle the fire both internally and externally.

Three fire engines remain in attendance and crews are damping down and checking for hot spots. The combined platform ladder is also in attendance.

The incident is ongoing.

One fire engine remains in attendance with crews checking for hot spots.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway. 

UPDATE TUESDAY 27TH APRIL

Fire crews remained on scene until 6.22pm on Monday 26th April.

An investigation into the cause of the fire has been carried out and it is believed the fire started accidentally in the kitchen of the property.
