One person rescued from River Mersey

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called to the River Mersey on Monday 5th October following reports of a person in the water.

Fire crews were alerted at 1.45pm and on scene at 1.51pm. Two fire engines attended as well as the fire service's rescue boat, Marine Fire One. HM Coastguard and RNLI were also called to the incident.

One person has been rescued from the river by Marine Fire One. They were brought ashore to MFRS' Marine Rescue Unit before being assessed by North West Ambulance Service. The person has been taken to hospital for further assessment.

Crews left the scene at 2.16pm.
