Location: Newton Le Willows
Fire crews were called to Crow Lane East at the junction of Cross Lane, Newton Le Willows on Tuesday, 4th August. Crews were alerted at 6.04pm and on scene at 6.07pm, with two fire engines and the search and rescue team in attendance.
Crews arrived to find a two-vehicle Road Traffic Collision (RTC) with both vehicles on all four wheels. One occupant was out of the vehicle on arrival, conscious and breathing. The occupant of the second vehicle was trapped in the vehicle for medical reasons and was assessed by fire crews before NWAS paramedics arrived.
The trapped casualty was then assessed by paramedics and a plan was devised to remove the roof of the vehicle, with the doors having already been removed. Before this took place the casualty was stabilised and was able to be removed from the vehicle through the side door on a longboard for further assessment by paramedics and onward transport to hospital.
After handing over the incident to paramedics, crews left the scene at 7.07pm.
