Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service were called to Kings Dock, Liverpool on 16 May following reports of a person in the River Mersey.

Crews were alerted at 7.01pm and on scene at 7.07pm. Two fire engines and the Marine Fire One rescue boat attended.

On arrival, crews found a person in the River Mersey in a life ring just outside of Albert Dock. Marine Fire One rescued the casualty from the water into the rescue boat at 7.08pm and transported them to the Marine Rescue Station.

With the help of fire crews, the person was transported into the station where they were treated with oxygen.

At 7.41pm the casualty was passed on to North West Ambulance Service for treatment and transported to Royal Liverpool Hospital.

Crews left the scene at 7.45pm.
