Operational Command concentrates primarily on developing officers in the Command and Control of Incidents. It is also used for the assessment of competence of officers and the assessment of potential new officers. Other work streams include the co-ordination and assessment of Service-wide exercises, working with external organisations to participate in exercises on various sites across Merseyside and beyond. As well as providing training for response to incidents involving hazardous materials.
