Rubbish fire, Woolton, Liverpool

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service are in attendance at a rubbish fire on Church Road, in Woolton, Liverpool.

Crews were alerted at 15.37 and on scene at 15.45 on Saturday 11th June. Two fire engines are currently at scene.

This is a large quantity of rubbish involved in fire, approximately 20m x 30m. Two main jets are in use.

Due to smoke drift, Merseyside Police are in attendance to assist with road closures and traffic management, however, handover to Liverpool City Council has been requested.

Nearby residents and businesses should close windows and doors. Anyone with existing medical conditions should keep medicine nearby and call NHS 111 if ill effects occur.

The incident is ongoing. Please avoid the area.
